I got interested in spiders with the goal of picking one up (which I’ve done!), and my partner and I looked for a spider documentary to learn more about the interesting little creatures.
Must’ve stumbled across a US documentary because this is exactly what it was like.
THESE EIGHT-LEGGED TERRORS ARE EVERYWHERE: IN THE DESERT, IN THE FOREST, AND EVEN IN YOUR HOME! THESE NIGHTMARE-FUEL FUCKS WILL HIDE ANYWHERE, WAITING TO STRIKE… WILL YOU BE NEXT???
Totally not the vibe I was going for…
It’s close. they forgot the suspense-building previews before every commercial break, so you actually see the same 5 sec of footage about 30 fucking times.
This is why I can’t stand most American TV. Absolute sensory hell for me (autistic.)
Followed by a five-minute summary, then ten minutes of rabid content, then again a five-minute summary, ad neuseam.
I can only conclude that the only thing that makes American documentaries remotely watchable are the 20 minute ad breaks, I wouldn’t know, I don’t watch private TV and if there’s ads on public TV then it’s two minutes of ginseng tea before the news.
