    The on demand chunk loading system for minecarts was really impressive. Complex to build, but it might actually provide use for long range rail systems in vanilla.

      mhm! it got me thinking about how else it could be used:

      This could also potentially act as a community item retrieval system on demand by hooking it up to one of Etho’s storage systems I think?

        A combination of item filters based on more named paper and some redstone logic could seem to do that. You could probably even do something that checks for x no or diamonds in the request before responding and have an automatic mail order shopping, though that might take long enough to process for their to be a risk of collisions if two hermits ordered within a minute or so.

          mm yeah :/

          at that point it might be akin to building a real post office system/backend within Minecraft

          hmm it’d be interesting if it could be done but unfortunately iy doesn’t seem like it’s worth the effort;

          • the time cost tradeoff seems to high atm

    Simple builds are better, too much emphasis on textures and gradients makes it look good at a distance, but burns the close up appeal.
