They gave my mother a platform. The internet was once my escape from my mother! Ruined.
Sorry to hear that. I know it’s been hard on you lately, I left you something in Funhole.
Is this I’m reference to a specific event, like redhat, or is it just generally about Linux distros using proprietary code?
ALL RESEMBLANCE TO REAL LIFE OPEN SOURCE PROJECTS IS PURELY COINCIDENTAL!
I AM FULLY AWARE OF THE FACT THAT IT IS ILLEGAL TO PARODY ANYTHING RED HAT RELATED. AS STATED IN THE RED HAT LOGO STANDARDS.

I LOVE ALL PENGUINS EQUALLY.
I posted on fedi
This corporate takeover shit is why you can’t trust penguins.
and immediately got reply-guyed from someone defending federation with Threads.
this is the only logical reply:
Oh, so that’s how the Linux legionaries end up walking with federate allies in a misty forest…
What’s the insigna on the shield of the penguin next to the one with the Gentoo insignia?
ubuntu I think, sorry, I can’t draw
Oh alright, my bad, I because of it being between Gentoo and Arch and being vocally disctrustful of Matacorp, I had assumed it was some minimalist independent Linux distro I didn’t know of. Just a case of me overthinking. Well, I’ve bothered you enough, I’ll be on my way now.
… Oh , wait, one last thing-
You mentioned that you couldn’t draw right? And if you say so, I guess it must be true, I definitely wouldn’t want to contradict you… But you see, my wife, she really enjoys these comics by this French guy, Moebius. Really talented guy, anyone can see from some of his illustrations. But there are other pages where his characters look less detailed, the lines more… “wobbly”, you’ll forgive my lack of a better word, but it’s funny, don’t you think? Why would a clearly talented artist make their illustrations look more sketchy? Apparently, it has to do with making it fit more in an absurd surreal type of atmosphere, you know, kind of like the one of Analog Nowhere. But you see, I’ve heard from a friend that the hardest things when drawing comics was not actually to have realistic, or even good looking characters, but to have some clarity in the setting composition and a consistency in the character’s designs. Now, isn’t that strange that while reading your comics, I never had to wonder who’s who, or where they are, or who’s in the front or in the back? Funny how the settings and the character’s positions in them always seem to make sense without thinking about it, as if it was actually made by a terribly talented artist, and that the seemingly messy style was really a refined technique to strengthen the surreal atmosphere. Now that sounds almost more plausible than your claim that you “can’t draw”. But now, why would someone that talented not make the Ubuntu logo more recognizable? It seems like even someone even less talented could’ve made it… If they used a reference. Now imagine this: The very talented artist has almost finished an incredibly good piece, it has a nice composition, with depth, and detailed outfits, all very clear and intelligible, while still having this “wobbly” style to stay surreal, now that must have taken them a lot of time and efforts… And by the time they make the insignia on a character’s shield, they might’ve been tired. They may even have neglected to use a reference, after all, they know all about this linoxes and distroos and whatchamacallit. They think they can make it without a reference. Now, as you know, drawing without a reference is a serious offense. You might want to contact a lawyer.
I love our community…
Thank you, Matadetective 💚
I’m sorry what the fuck dude you legit just wrote an insanely detailed columbo fanfic about a comment instead of saying “nah man your art speaks for itself”
Absolutely wild dude I love that you exist, you are beauty. Honestly I can’t see a better way to complement a person after they self deprecate. I hope you take pride in this master class of a comment
Thanks ! Honestly I was just gonna be like “Btw, you say you can’t draw but it’s obvious that you can”, and I felt like the way I’d worded it sounded a bit like Columbo, so I had a choice between toning it down or going all in, and the later seemed funnier…
