The devices still work just fine…
Arguably, with no future updates, they’ll work even better when you mod them.
First system i ever modded was my Wii. Loved it
Pokemon Bank/ Transporter still works logged on today, and can still access my pokemon, although it did crash my 3ds once before a sucessful connection
I’m surprised Nintendo didn’t brick them with an update to force everyone to repurchase all their games.

I feel that so har. After homebrewing my 3ds and pirating every game (sorry devs) and even installing Linux on it. It’s just time to go. Had fun and will still pick it up every once in a while but it will never be that same high I felt years ago playing for the first time, experiencing that first street pass. RIP the best handheld
