Note the follow up that sticking to your bedtime 4 times in a row is another goal. We’re ruined, folks.
Sleep research has moved on from recommending that everyone needs 8 hours or more of sleep. It’s nothing more than a myth now. Everyone is different, and for most adults the amount of sleep necessary in order to be fully rested is considered between 7 and 9, meaning a lot of people are perfectly fine with just 7 hours, and some need even less than that. In fact this review from 2 years ago suggests that we can’t even guarantee someone will be noticeably impaired with 5 or fewer hours of sleep.
For a long time, I didn’t feel fully rested with fewer than 11 hours of sleep… meaning, except for some weekends, I felt like a zombie all the time… but could fall asleep and take a nap any moment anywhere, for a few hours of wake up time worth (great for exams, conferences and the like: nap half an hour before, go totally fresh, fall on the nose afterwards). Then, last year, got some serious case of insomnia where I could neither fall asleep nor fully wake up for like a week straight… that was much worse, felt like going crazy, had to start taking meds to sleep 2, then 4, then maybe 5 hours, and still wake up feeling like a train had passed me over. Then like a month ago, suddenly fell asleep at around 7pm, didn’t take my sleeping meds, and woke up totally refreshed at 2am… the F!
So, based on personal anecdotal evidence… I’d say sleep is a mystery, and I want my cyborg on/off switch now, please… 🤖
You might want to look at getting some tests done. I’d look at Sleep Apnea and Thyroid tests. Those can be major issues that don’t get looked at often.
Wait, you guys can just decide to sleep for 8+ hours? I woke up after 6 hours this morning and my body was like “Lmao, no more sleep today.”
I’ve got two small children. I haven’t slept for more than four hours in a row in about five years.
Help.
i remember being a small kid whose body always wanted to wake up at like 5 in the morning, and every christmas I’d go to wake up my parents and be dismayed that they wanted to sleep in. nowadays i feel so evil for that haha
I heard from a friend that this game wants your screen to be on all night? Is that true?
The app advises you to turn your phone over so the screen is facing the bed. The screen turns off but the game is still running. It also advises you not to place your phone under a pillow or blanket to prevent overheating.
Lol phone on and nearby the bed? The best way to get only 2 hours of sleep
If you don’t have the Pokémon GO Plus+ it needs the phone to be on =\
Wait… they made an app/game for sleep which requires the screen to be on all night unless you pay?
I am assuming Pokemon GO Plus is a paid service.
The Pokemon go plus+ (yes it’s two pluses) is a little device, sorta like a flattened PokeBall, rather than a service.
[Impossible Difficulty]
It’s biologically impossible. I get neck and back pain sleeping over 8 hrs
Hell, if I get anything over 7 hours my lower back hates me for the first hour after I get up. My ideal right now, is about 6 hours, and I typically wake up naturally after about that. Unless I’m very tired.
You might need a new a different bed. That and exercising regularly completely killed my lower back pain.
The bed is the most likely culprit, but new mattresses are expensive.
You can get decent ones on Amazon for less than $500. I think I paid like 350 for my 12” deep one, I’ve rotated it every 3 months and it still feels like new a few years later
You might want to look into buying a new bed if that’s the case. You’d be surprised how much the quality of the bed affects your sleep quality.
The bed frame, or the mattress?
The mattress.
