Young rioters clashed with police and looted stores Friday in a fourth day of violence in France triggered by the deadly police shooting of a teen, piling more pressure on President Emmanuel Macron after he appealed to parents to keep children off the streets and blamed social media for fueling unrest.

    Good. The state should fear it’s citizens. There’s no excuse for the behaviour of the police and they’ve been waiting to act like this since the pension protests

    There were “79 police officers and gendarmes injured”, the ministry added, in a still provisional toll. In all, 1,350 vehicles were set on fire, 234 buildings burnt or damaged and 2,560 fires recorded on public roads and streets, a police source told AFP. The ministry also recorded 31 attacks on police stations, 16 on municipal police stations and 11 on gendarmerie barracks.
