    The frequency of strawman and slippery slope accusations tells us more about how people usually think than how people usually argue.

      Most voters seem to agree with you.

      Everytime someone makes a strawman argument, people give them a pass. Bad reading comprehension is fine with most.

      Then someone calls it for what it is, a strawman, and they get downvoted for using that term rather than… Defending an absurd stance they don’t actually hold.

      It’s irritating, and I see it on Reddit and Lemmy both all the time.
