What a day it’ll be!

Kotonowaka, the tournament leader at 11-1, gets his ultimate test against Terunofuji, who is at 10-2 along with the 2 remaining Ozeki.

KNW has never beaten (0-6) Terunofuji.

If KNW loses, that will likely set up a 3 or 4 way tie for the lead, and a spectacular finish to the tournament!

Long time makuuchi ranker Takarafuji is going to be demoted with his makekoshi.

Mitakeumi looks terrible for a former Ozeki. What happened?

Why was Tsurugisho vs Shodai a torinaoishi? Tsuru clearly landed first.

Congratulations to Asanoyama for making his kachikoshi despite a 3 match absence!

Ichiyamamoto unable to deal with a better version of himself, Abi

Great job by Atamifuji to foil Kinbozan’s henka attempt, and get himself into a winning position.

At 6-7 he has a narrow path for a kachikoshi, but the most difficult part of his schedule should be over. Ganbare Atamifuji!

Tobizaru vs Ura was so close! Ura was so conscious of where his hand was! A good decision by the shimpans and gyoji in favor of Ura, IMO

What a move by Kirishima on Hoshoryu! He’s still in the leading pack!

Hoshoryu was wincing as he got up and went to sit ringside. Looks like it was disappointment, or anticipation of The Call from his uncle…

Terunofuji vs Kotonowaka. KNW looks like a brick house against most rikishi, but against Teru, he was just outclassed. He was actually doing well by pushing TNF to the rope, then TNF clamped his right arm, and KNW gave up his advantageous position to go for a right belt grip, which he got, but in exchange for giving TNF a position where he had leverage from below. From there, TNF stood KNW upright and it was a straightforward push out from there.

Tomorrow, Day 14 and it’s not over as the co-leaders face the co-2nd placers:

Kirishima faces Kotonowaka and Terunofuji faces Hoshoryu
