Only other alternatives I could think of would be just straight up harvesting and selling your customers data or paywalling your website, unless you’re willing to lose profit.
Only thing I could think of is something like adding an extra 10 or 20 to your internet bill and your isp automatically sends money to the sites you visit based on times visited, but it would require SO much work, and so many problems to solve.
I’d be fine with either paywalls and donations.
Ad support is nice theoretically, but we’ve seen that we can’t be trusted not to turn that into a hellhole of popups and broken experiences to maximise revenue.
