"I’ll tell you what. As a woman, do not ever give me a job, a title, a position, an award—anything that I did not earn,” she insisted. “You give me that position because I am the best person for that job, period.” -Lara Trump

But she still took the job…

Before she met Eric, Lara’s ambitions seemed to lean toward modeling, not politics. While attending North Carolina State University, she worked for four years as a Hooters Girl. During and after college, she entered several bikini contests in her hometown of Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, including Maxim magazine’s “Hometown Hotties” contest. In 2005, a scantily clad Lara appeared in the now-defunct magazine Stuff

So, so qualified to run the RNC. Heck she even has a pastry degree.

      Unlike her Einstein-visa MIL.

Honestly, working at Hooters for 4 years does demonstrate strong work ethic and reliability. Like 90% of the RNC Chair job is getting dirty old men to give you money and 10% is TV. It’s not a typical career path but she might excel in the role, given the opportunity.

I think this is the best take really. She obviously lacks the typical qualifications and it’s no doubt that she got the job because of who she knows and not what she knows. But I really dislike when it’s framed like working at hooters and bikini modelling is something bad, shameful or vapid. It’s a job like any other and in this particular scenario it means she has hands on experience dealing with pervs, weirdos and people stuck in a time before women’s suffrage. She might very well be a very effective leader of this bunch…

It demonstrates a work ethic no more or less than any other server role, which does not qualify you to lead a political party
