So I blew through the first 3 books and was hooked, then had to wait FIVE DAMN YEARS for book 4. Did I mention book 3 has a cliffhanger ending? Yeah…
If you didn’t get past the lobstrosities, that’s book 2 and the story completely changes through 2 and 3.
4 is largely a flashback to when Roland was a kid…
King then promised he was “going to write 5, 6, and 7 without getting up to go to the bathroom” and instead, he got hit by a van and almost killed. (!)

I’m glad he got to finish the story, but in my mind, the first 4 were far, far better books than the last 3.
There are ZERO flashbacks in 5-7, I’m not sure if that was an intentional choice after book 4, but it makes the narrative lesser IMHO.

It can still go up when a lease expires, but generally you have more notification and the opportunity to negotiate.
It will cost a landlord less to give you a better rate, than clean up and refurbish the unit for a new renter.
I’m guessing you were renting month to month instead of signing a lease? Under a lease you’re guaranteed the same amount every month until the lease expires.

If the author was 13 or 14 when the Saturn came out, I would have been about 10 years older. My memory on this is crystal clear:
Sega shit the bed by releasing the Saturn early in the US. They wanted to beat the Playstation to release, so they dropped the Saturn to “selected retailers” and the games just were not ready.
The idea that you could patch them post release did not exist yet and Virtua Fighter was so bad that Sega had to give away a free update called Virtua Fighter Remix to Saturn owners.

So I waited to see what Playstation had to offer and I got to play it at San Diego Comic Con that year.
The one that sold me instantly wasn’t Tekken… it was Battle Arena Toshinden.
That was my 9/9/1995 Playstation purchase.

Sling for live TV and Max for John Oliver, that’s pretty much it. Oh, and a Disney+ gift subscription for my sister. Comcast gave me a free subscription to Peacock, but frankly I never watched it and I’m not on Comcast anymore so I don’t know if it’s still active or not.
My WIFE might have a problem though… She does Amazon Prime, Netflix, Disney+/Hulu, AppleTV, Spotify, I think there might be others I’m not aware of.

Admins have been talking about it, it looks like it has something to do with banning/unbanning users. Sometimes a ban/unban doesn’t want to propagate to .ee and that causes a logjam somehow.
Smarter people than me are looking at it!
