Not really. While there are more cities in Germany with a system called U-Bahn only Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Nuremberg have real U-Bahn-systems all the others technically are Stadtbahnen, Unterstraßenbahnen or simular.

But if course it’s up for discussion if the term metro should be translated in such a strict way, or whether it should be done more open to include other systems as well.

Edit: So at least if you follow the definition of the word Metro by the UITP the map is completely correct for Germany.

UK’s got S, M and the Underground roundel. I think it’s interesting that those three different common terms, subway, metro and underground, used globally, all originate from the London Underground in different ways.

Czechia just uses a big down vote. Seems like they’re anti transit.

London’s Underground is amazing when it does work, but pure hell when it doesn’t.

Once you have a rough idea of what lines go where, you can usually guess your way to your location by filling in gaps for lines that regularly go down (Lizzy Line…).

A lot of people assume that having trains every 3-5 mins is great, but that timing is needed to get the sheer number of people using the underground out of/around London.

Thankfully, London has a lot of great pubs, so you can grab a nearby coffee in the morning, or a beer or two in the evening until things calm down.
