A federal judge ruled Friday that law enforcement officials can’t use a Tennessee law that strictly limits drag shows to interfere with a local Pride festival this weekend, favoring event organizers who sued after a district attorney warned he intends to enforce the new statute even after another federal judge ruled it unconstitutional.

U.S. District Judge Ronnie Greer in Knoxville granted a temporary restraining order that prevents District Attorney Ryan Desmond and other local law enforcement officials from enforcing the state law or interfering with the Blount County Pride festival scheduled for Saturday. That includes no discouraging of third parties from hosting or modifying the event, including the venue of Maryville College, the judge wrote.

This is a First Amendment violation, Republicans. You assholes are always whining about being cancelled by private businesses, but are perfectly happy to “cancel” anything they think is too “woke.”

Why can’t these assholes just go enjoy their Saturday like everyone else? Always worried about what other people are doing.

Don’t like drag shows? Don’t go! Go fishing or go see a movie. Go buy some Let’s Go Brandon flags. You can do whatever makes you happy as long as it doesn’t interfere with others right to do the same.

    Miserable dorks.

Hey, I resent that, I’m a miserable dork! Let’s call them precisely what they are: close minded, freedom-hating, mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging, fascistic douche canoes.

Which is especially ironic since right parties usually were more about not letting the government mess with peoples shit…

If the GOP didn’t have double standards, they wouldn’t have any at all.

They go on and on about the first amendment, moan about private businesses even treading near to their first amendment right, but yet they’re more than happy to curbstomp everybody else’s they disagree with. Dirty bigoted hypocrites.

And fuck every official (low level cop or not) who needs a judge to tell them they can’t mess with this parade.

For any interested. I’m from Blount County. I went to pride. It was a great time. Love kindness and friendship all around.

An acquaintance working the checkin booth said they caught one of the known instigators trying to sneak in, but apart from that, everything went great.

Also, just saying, but their motto this go around was spectacular - “There’s pride in them/their hills.”
