He was also wanted for murder in Brazil, and was sentenced to life in prison. There’s a legitimate concern locally that he’ll kill again to avoid capture.

Fair. But is it national news worthy? Seems of interest to folks living in the area, but this is sadly not anything special. Just an excuse for people who don’t live there to be instilled with more unnecessary fear

I get you. I do live nearby, and it’s pretty scary, mostly because this is the sort of place you don’t lock your doors all the time. But yes, the national news has been sensationalizing the story for clicks. For us, it’s important to have updates and actual information, not just “it’s been six hours, let’s make another article for more engagement.”

Oh neat, the “news” source that legally argued in court their content was entertainment and no reasonable person could think it was true… Fuck Fox News.

Received reports for the source-- as usual, these are evaluated on a case-by-case basis as FoxNews is not currently “blacklisted”, it’s just “not-preferred”. After comparing this article to the one in the comments, they contain basically the same information and the conclusion is this particular post will be allowed to stay up. Many of the other links from Fox News have been taken down, not entirely because of the outlet, but because the content of the article went off the rails and did not match what other outlets had reported. If you have any discrepancies feel free to comment or tag me.

We respect that users may not want to click on links leading to Fox News, so as always we do encourage people to continue to post links to other outlets in the comments if you disagree with the source of any post (as ZephyrXero did here).
