Wow, so much awesomeness for one week! I like that Rozemyne’s Grutrissheit divine instrument is a tablet with a search function. Not sure how she’s going to explain all this to everyone else. “Somehow I got big by offering mana to the Mestionora statue in the library.” Rozemyne being a mana chameleon is kind of an interesting development. I wonder if she’s going to inform Ferdinand at all or just continue as if everything is normal. In my headcanon Ferdinand’s estate will now be known as “La Quinta”.

      Ahhh, so many questions now…

Since Rozemyne and Ferdinand’s mana is so similar would magic contracts, citizenship and hidden room registration affect both of them? It seems that the magic ink they make is slightly different still, so perhaps not? Still close enough that a god couldn’t tell them apart though.

I wonder if Ferdinand knew that Rozemyne was marked by Ewigeliebe. Still very curious why he needs all that maximal quality paper.

Will Rozemyne be able to fix Yurgenschmidt’s nearly dry foundation even with the holes in her knowledge? Will Georgine assault Ehrenfest’s foundation while Rozemyne is away at the Royal Academy?

Gah! Can’t wait for next week!

Considering how the explanation for the Mark of Ewigeliebe is showing up in Rozemyne’s Grutrissheit, we know for sure that it wasn’t part of the 30 to 40 percent of knowledge he got, so he would have had to gain the knowledge by other means. But he said at some point that he knew barely anything about devouring children and it’s not a topic likely to be covered by any nobles, especially not the texts in the underground archive, so I suspect he isn’t aware of it.

Unless the whole enviroment is only symbolic and this all took place in the same way how the inside of the shrines seems to exist outside of time, she also needs to explain how she got teleported from the Library into the Farthest Hall. Speaking of which, I wonder if Hildebrand has already locked the chapel. Because if he did, Rozemyne will either have to send a rather awkward Ordonnanz, escape through the hole above the tree in Lessy in a reverse of what Ferdinand did, or be stuck there for a week until the mednoble ritual is due.

Although the way she entered was similar to the shrines, the more you think about it the more differences there are. With the shrines she entered by simply touching the doors compared to giving mana to a magic tool. In the shrines she was compelled to pray and (as evidenced by Eglantine’s time in one shrine) had the mana pulled out of her regardless of if she wanted to give it or not whereas in this area she still has free will and can act on her own. She seems to form the environment she most desires by putting a little mana into the ground, which she did in order to probe her surroundings.

I always read her time praying in the shrines as her not having been physically moved to a location to pray while time is stopped but rather that being a vision of how she would have subconsciously offered mana to the gods while that mana is suddenly and quickly pulled from her body by contact with the shrine.

    minecraft book
    G-book acquired.

In an ebook on a tablet… but book is book.

So the foolish Ferdinand barged into Grutrissheit acqusition circle by brute force. Refused to accept Mestionoras knowledge. Refused to become the Zent and hid in Ehrenfest temple.

I wonder in what bizarre way, Rozemyne will extract the knowledge from Ferdinand. (I guess by printing some books)

My hypothesis is that Ferdinand was already planning to transfer/write his 30-40% knowledge of the G-book onto the 300 pages of “maximum quality fey paper” that he request from Rozemyne. Maybe he is already expecting to be executed by either the Royal famaly or Georgine/Detlinde and wants to preserve this knowledge somehow.

I just belatedly realized something: Rozemye has been forcefully grown to look her actual age… but her actual age is one year older than what noble society believes her to be. So from other people’s perspective she didn’t just catch up to where she should have been, but like she’s actually unusually well developed for “her age” now.

I bet she’s going to turn quite a few heads now, with her the boys of her grade. ^^

She should also be very careful with how much she tells the Royal Family. If they learn the full truth either they, or Raublut, might take it upon themselves to kill Ferdinand and either trick or force her into absorbing his feystone.

That being said, I am a bit confused how the Wisdom of Mestionora can be split in two. We know for a fact that in the past multiple people could hold a Grutrissheit of their own, at the same time. After all that’s how Tollkühnheit was able to create Lanzenave in the first place, while his brother ruled over Yurgenschmidt. Is it because the gods aren’t capable of telling Ferdinand and Rozemyne apart, or is it because Ferdinand pissed them off so much with his behaviour ten years ago, that they’d rather see him dead, than give Rozemyne the remaining parts of the bible themselves?

I wonder if Ferdinand forcibly severed the connection with the gods somehow after he received only the information he wanted (which would be in line with him wanting knowledge but not wanting to supplant the Zent) or if he didn’t offer enough mana for Erwärmen to maintain his form for long enough for all of the Book of Mestionora to be transferred. It’s possible that if he entered the proper way then he would have had to give Erwärmen the requisite amount of mana for the full transfer, but by entering through a different method he bypassed that requirement.

Erwärmen said that Ferdinand rejected the knowledge, so I don’t think it was a lack of mana that stopped the memory transfer partway through. And with how quickly and jumbled everything went through Rozemyne’s mind, I find it hard to believe he would be able to know that the knowledge he looked for has already been transfered.

I think it’s more likely that his curiosity just got the better of him and he barged into the place, without knowing what that would mean initially. And when he realized that he was well on his way to become the next Zent, he forecfully severed the connection, stopping the process cold. Remember that at the time Ferdinand was name-sworn to his father and had given the promise to always serve him and Ehrenfest first and foremost. If he had obtained the full Grutrissheit, that might well have been a breach of that promise and outright killed him on the spot. In light of that, I can easily see how even the mad scientist himself would block himself off from all the juicy knowledge.

So this is it, Rozemyne gets her own copy of the BIG BIG BOOK, and it’s incomplete. Oh, but don’t worry, Ferdinand has the rest of it. Also she now looks her age, thank Anwachs. Also we get an explanation for a lot of things regarding Rozemyne’s mana signature, in that she has the same exact one as Ferdinand and also got the same names of the king and queen gods as he did.

Oh, Sigiswald showing some common sense and managing to score some plus points with his future fiancé? I didn’t expect that. I wonder if he had a talk or a couple with Adolphine and she managed to make him see how detached, inpolite and inappropriate his part behaviour was.

I wonder if it’s only the appearance of the place Rozemyne was transported to, that changes according to the person who goes there, or also the shumil. If it stayed constant and always appeared as a golden shumil, the prince of times past probably got the idea to make Schwartz and Weiss from meeting Gramps and copied it’s appearance when making them. But if that’s the case, who finialized it’s appearance? Is Erwärmen secretly fond of shumils, in spite of his stern appearance and behaviour? That’d be quite funny actually. ^^

I’m really looking forward to how her retainers react to her sudden transformation. Rozemyne still has some classes right? Like she has to do her dedication whirl? It’s not like she can dip to Ehrenfest while they try to keep the situation private, but they’re gonna have to. The Archduke Conference is mere months away, when she’ll be adopted as a royal.

This really reminds me of when she was in the jureve but in reverse. In the jureve, she was asleep for years while everyone else developed both physically and mentally. Now, while in the Garden of Beginnings, she’s aged presumably about 3 years, and her mind’s been filled with knowledge. while for everyone else, it’s been less than a bell’s time.

God, what of her commoner family too? Their weak little daughter/sister has suddenly hit a magical growth spurt and is suddenly a young woman. Oh I truly do look forward to the POVs for this volume!

Also, now she has access to the information necessary to warn Sylvester about Georgine’s ability to steal Ehrenfest’s foundation. That fancy new tablet should help her in finding it, but how will she warn him, and what will he do to prevent such a thing happening. Georgine really represents the old ways of doing things; even though Ahrensbach is normally a higher ranking duchy then Ehrenfest, her teachings were the ways of the middle-ranking backwater duchy she grew up in. Her taking over Ehrenfest would be in every way regressive for the Duchy, not to mention much of her archducal family would likely be killed in response.

Keep in mind that the gods are clearly aware of her time as Myne, so they would age her up to her actual age, not her noble age, meaning that Rozemyne went from looking younger than her known age, to looking one year older than she officially is. ^^

Myne, back in her day, was already 2 to 3 years behind in growth. The one year in the coma kind of balances out with her noble age being one year younger than her true age. But even after the first jureve, we were told that while Rozemyne started growing a bit, it was still slower than other children her age. So put that all together, and I would not be surprised if it was 4 years or even more she was behind and given in one big spurt now.

Same here on the reations. I’m looking forward to see, which of Rozemyne’s retainers and friends manage to just take it in their stride, because of how used they are to the impossible and inplausible happening to and around her, and how many jaws will have to be picked up the floor.

Considering that from her letter to Grausam & Co she indicated that she had to look for the entrance to the Foundation, just moving that entrance should be enough to shut her plans down. Naturally that isn’t a perfect solution either, since her first move would naturally be to assassinate Sylvester and only then take over the Foundation. Her discovering that she can’t access the Foundation any longer is going to be little comfort if Syl is already dead at the time. So I think that’s what they need to guard against more, the assassination.

But Georgine is under real time pressure now. Her plan hinges on the Zent being without a Grutrissheit and thus unable to just remake the Ehrenfest foundation and give it to someone else. The moment there is a true Zent, the only thing she can expect from murdering Sylvester and stealing his foundation, is a public execution. So unless she can prevent anyone from gaining a Grutrissheit, to assure that Sigiswald will become the next fake king, she needs to act fast. Of course if that were to happen and nobody is going to get a full Grutrissheit soon, the country is going to fall apart anyway, but right now Georgine does not know that and thus probably thinks that a fake king is to her advantage.

I wonder what will happen if the country foundation were to fail. Could the Aubs hold their duchies together to form a patchwork of effectively seperate mini-countries, or do the duchy foundations require the existence of the country foundation?

I’m seeing this sentiment a lot here that she’s finally looking her age, when there’s nothing to indicate that’s what Erwärmen/Anwachs was aiming for. Erwärmen only said that her vessel was too small to contain the Book of Mestionora, not that she was too small for her age. For all we know if she had already looked her age (noble age or true age) then Erwärmen may have still had her grow a bit more.

All we really know is that she now has a large enough “vessel” (presumably a large enough capacity for mana/schtappe) for the Book of Mestionora.

After letting out the High Bishop’s robes, she mentions that they still cover her legs completely, but makes no mention of having to hike it up to not trip on it. And that robe was made to acommodate her expected height for the entire tenure as High Bishop, which was always intended to come to an end at 15, when she comes of age.

So regardless of what Erwaermen and Anwachs intended, her looking close to her actual age was certainly the outcome.

But you do make a good point. Since we don’t know the full intent of the gods, we can not assume that she now looks exactly 14, just because that’s her true age. We only know for certain, that she still fits in the HIgh Bishop’s robes. But since Corinna couldn’t just measure how tall she would be in the future, she could only have spitballed it. So the robes might have ended up either a bit too small or too big for Rozemyne, once she came of age, they might have incorporated some extra safety margin, or not… plenty of fuzzy factors that might shift her current apparent age one way or the other, but only to a certain degree.

I think we can still assume she now looks something within the 13 to 15 range with a high degree of certainty. I guess we’ll know more, once the comments start rolling in from the other nobles, and once Rozemyne can see herself in a mirror.

Had another thought as I reread the part. Now that Rozemyne has acquired the (partial) book before being adopted there’s no explicit need to get access to the archive. It’s probably still valuable to align her interests and make working with her easier for the royals, but it’s not a hard requirement now.

      I don’t think so.

Sure, they don’t necessarily need to get her into that room behind the barrier anymore, but now that she has the Grutrissheit, there’s all the more reason to make sure to get her into the fold of the royal family, so that nobody else can get her.

And I’m not even certain that they don’t want to get her into that room still. We don’t know what’s in there after all. For all we know, it could be physical copy of a past Grutrissheit, which contains much, if not all, of what Rozemyne is missing to get to the 100% without having to do anything to Ferdinand.

What will the royals think of the tablet with its search function? If Rozemyne was able to get the Grutrissheit just from praying at the shrines and charging the library’s central magic tool, then what is locked behind the barrier, in the underground archive, since it is clearly not an absolute necessity to gain Mestionora’s Wisdom?

That seems rather excessive protection to add just the single step of donating mana in the library, to what was already explained in tablets and scrolls in the rest of the underground archive.

Could it just be an elaborate misdirection, to discourage potential usurpers from trying to usurp the crown, with the chance of the interloper coneniently getting themselves eliminated by Schwartz and Weiss?

I think it was a method made by the royal family (hence why it would check if you’re registered as a royal) as a shortcut to getting some form of copy of the Book of Mestionora. Wonder whether it’s a collection of knowledge in there or some form of magic tool that you would fill with mana so you could recreate it like divine instruments.

To me it sounds like previous Zents have made physical transcriptions of important bits and that’s what would be locked up. Or at least some kind of tool that provides access to the knowledge even if it isn’t specifically in a written form.

There have been notes about the book being passed between generations too if I recall, which based on our description this week could be as straightforward as the feystone of a dead Zent.

The Erwaermen route Roz just did included a worthiness test that she passed easily (she wanted to read, not rule).

That worthiness test might be what previous royals failed at, so they added a chamber to the underground archive where they could copy a Grutrissheit lite containing just the important magic for running the country, without the full Erwaermen wisdom download.

As long as you have 7 tablets, you can probably make any knowledge you have appear in a book by chanting “grutrissheit”, regardless of whether you got a full download or not.

I wonder, could Raublut have somehow learned that Ferdinand did go at least partway through the process of obtaining the Grutrissheit and that is why he’s so suspicious of and hostile to him?
