But as we all know, the Bitcoin blockchain is a transparent public ledger and it is very difficult to be anonymous. Monero introduced "ring signatures" with the core protocol CryptoNote. This protocol makes sure everybody is anonymous by default and transactions are unlinkable. This is actually the e-cash Friedman predicted: "A method where buying on the internet you can transfer funds from A to B, without A knowing B or B knowing A.
