Let’s see how hungry those leopards are.
Cake? To have AND eat?
Abortion Rights and Trump don’t go in the same sentence.
Much less, Abortion Rights and Republicans.
Trump is a politician on the right and his face is an abortion?
And now there will be a federal abortion ban. Just watch.
Oh great, we’re going to be Ceaușescu’s Romania.
I mean… I think the message is pretty fucking clear, especially when you consider voter count for Trump barely fucking moved, but fully 10 MILLION less people showed up for Harris compared to the last election. People are completely sick of the often meaningless platitudes and lack of action from the DNC. The corporate capture of the party is obviously catastrophic to their electoral chances. In terms of corporate friendliness, there’s actually almost zero difference between the two parties.
I thought Harris lost because Americans hate women. At least that’s the narrative from Democrats who don’t want to admit that moving to the right was a shitty idea.
Both statements can and is true.
I mean for fucks sake, 53 percent of white women voted for Trump. Even American women hates women.
The most anti abortion person I know is a woman of colour
53 percent of white women who voted voted for Trump.
This may surprise you, but the ones that didn’t vote but could tacitly were fine with Trump as well.
it really should not have mattered how far left or right harris was… she was still left of the opposition, and she is not a power-hungry, vindictive shitstain on humanity hell bent on destroying the nation and the planet all while scamming
millionsbillions of dollars in the process.marking a straight line democrat ballot should have been the easiest decision ever. you gotta start somewhere. no democrat is going to appeal to all or even just all who are ‘left of center’. it is way too diverse of a group. in the current political landscape it will take numerous election cycles to shift congress and state houses left far enough to actually get the stuff that matters accomplished. so take what you can get instead of shitting on the country and everything else just because you don’t get every single thing you wanted out of one candidate. you can’t be this damn picky in a general election where everything is literally on the line. the time to be choosy is during the party primaries (yea, i know there wasn’t really one this go around, but she is the sitting vp ffs. plenty good enough… better than good enough. especially considering the circumstances of her candidacy).
they vote single issue, and they are unified. democrats, progressives and other like-minded citizens need to wake tf up and do the same.
it really should not have mattered how far left or right harris was…
It did. Until Democrats internalize that and act accordingly, they will continue losing. If you want to move to the right, then you can try counting on the right to support you. Look at how well that worked out for you.
Hilarious to me how the left echo chambers (in which I often participate) missed the takeaway from the election and somehow say (as they do with every election over the past couple decades) that this time the Dems moved to the right and that’s why they lost.
If the Dems really kept shifting so much to the right each cycle, how do you explain the past 4 years?
As someone outside the US who’s reasonably centrist from a global perspective…
The Democrats have been inching further right for decades. Every four years, the party picks one or two “progressive” topics, dials them back a bit, and campaigns on change, while supporting a general platform that is similar to conservative platforms in most countries.
That said, the population seems to be shifting along with them, so campaigning on a centrist platform would get them branded as pinko commie socialists and result in the majority of the population abandoning them.
The problem is, they’re the “not Republicans” party, which covers a huge swathe of political opinions that usually aren’t in agreement with each other.
Hilarious to me that people who think Democrats moving left would have won this election when the root issue of voter ignorance reigns supreme and Republicans and extremely wealthy control the narrative via the news media still continues. And don’t get me wrong, I want Free Healthcare, Universe Basic Income, and even a Wage Cap, but I am still unconvinced these things would have been viewed positively enough to sway voters with the 2 afformentioned issues still persisting.
If the Dems really kept shifting so much to the right each cycle, how do you explain the past 4 years?
Oh, let me guess. You’re going to feed me the same “BiDeN iS tHe MoSt PrOgReSsIvE pReSiDeNt EvEr” crap. Lie to someone else.
