You can take 5 photos for free every day, or subscribe to get full access and support our work

    😂😂😂

A subscription for a camera app that advertises itself as doing less than the stock camera app.

So the real news is someone thinks they have discovered how to extract rent from you taking photos?

    Is this a joke app?

I can literally turn on RAW photos in my Pixel camera settings. Pretty sure you can on Samsung too.

Open F-Droid, search camera. I see Fossify Camera, Open Camera, Libre Camera, and FreeDCam that basically provide the appeal that this subscription camera app has (AI-less).

Open PlayStore/Alternative, search camera. Holy cow! I’m not even going to name any. There are so many. Not all are AI-less, but there are a plenty.

Also, GCam has a RAW option. So… out of the box, this new camera app is unnecessary.

Why would you make the picture worse on purpose? The cameras of modern phones have their own Algorithm chip to enhance the image as the actual camera isn’t really that capable.

Overall Google does impressive processing of photos. But for a while, photos with my Pixel were visible “over-processed” looking. It’s improved now. But it still goes to far making the sky look colorful sometimes.

It’s good to have the option to do my own processing, or just to take a picture as-is as much as possible.

you can only take five photos per day without paying for a subscription, which costs $0.99 / month or $10.99 USD / year

Are you kidding me with this shit?! I have no problem with paying $11 straight up for an app, so it’s not about the money. I simply refuse to encourage the garbage “subscription all the things” model.
