A lot of this is coming from all the documentary and developer commentary content Valve released recently for the big 20th anniversary of Half Life 2’s release, so that’s spot on.

Interesting. Why was this not known at the time where the orange box was released?
Some people hated it, but I never saw it. I installed the portal mod for Garry’s mod and played narbacular drop while waiting for the release.
