Because his left arm was wedged between the window and door?

I’m sorry but those shots went off when the car made it a full car length out. To add to that, WHY THE FUCK WOULD IT HELP ANYTHING.

Cops sure do make it hard to not hate them.

A Chevy Malibu is front wheel drive if I recall. So yeah, she wasn’t doing donuts.

Article said that the officers had responded to a complaint to which she matched the description, decided that it wasn’t her, but did find that she had an expired registration. Minor issue, probably would have gotten a minor fine or something, but she took issue with them dealing with that, and things went bad from there.

Poblete’s partner examines the tires on Gao’s car and is heard saying, “tires are good… not hot.”

After the officers seemingly determined that Gao was not doing donuts in the parking lot, they were preparing to let her go. However, Poblete said his dispatcher had informed them that her vehicle registration was expired.

      The situation intensified from there.

It was not just the vehicle registration.

(Gao) only produced an identification card from Massachusetts

I’m assuming that was a government issue Mass. ID card, not a Mass. drivers license.

Was driving without a valid drivers license justification for shooting at her after she sped away?

        Seems harsh.

Ah thanks for that summary. I just skimmed the article before a pot of pasta started boiling over.

KTVU learned through court records that Gao was charged last year with criminal threats and swinging a metal police at a neighbor in Union City. She was also charged with vandalism for allegedly defacing a box truck and smearing feces on it, also in Union City. Both those cases are pending.

Before that, she was arrested twice on suspicion of domestic violence after her boyfriend said she hit him with nunchucks and a glass cup, causing head injuries. Those cases were dismissed when he declined to cooperate.

Man, nunchucks only were re-legalized in California – which has a whole bunch of laws against Asian martial arts weapons – relatively recently.

Yeah, looks like it was in 2021.

She sure did didn’t waste any time picking some up.
