I have had this issue for a while now that I cannot go to my previous comments or replies to my comments in my inbox, meaning I cannot tap on them to get to the post they are in.
Instead it briefly shows the post, then all content is gone and its a completely empty page. Just see the top and bottom bar essentially.
How to reproduce, just go to your profile, go to comments or posts you made, tap on one. Same for replies in my inbox.
I’ve been having the same issue too. Just updated to 0.1.2 and still experiencing it.
Just FYI in case you don’t check new comments otherwise, the solution is to disable “Respect community recommended comment sort type”.
I haven’t experienced this issue, and I was unable to reproduce it.
Does this happen on other accounts as well? Also, what happens if you open your profile e.g. from anonymous mode?
Good question, I realised it also happens when I try to follow comments of other users to their respective post. Like I go to a users profile, tap comments and then tap on one to see the whole post, same thing happens. Briefly flashes the post and then its just an empty page.
Same when I am anonymous, same if I switch to my backup account.
That sounds very concerning. I will try to figure out a way to reproduce this.
Thanks, seeing another user in the thread having the issue we can maybe test sonething for you once you come up with an idea. If there is some sort of a log I can provide, let me know.
I can give a quick update that I finally decided to just completely purge my eternity app install, then reinstalled from f-droid.
Now the issue seems fixed, even though its the same version installed.
I applied my custom theme, still works.
Applied my backup settings… the issue is back. So it is some setting I made and I will try testing now if I can figure out which setting it is. Or maybe just a random glitch and setting things back from scratch is needed?
In the Codeberg issue, someone mentioned that disabling the “Respect community recommended comment sort type” option fixes the issue. Is it enabled on your end?
Yes, thats it! Tested it on my fresh install. Restored my backup. That option was active whenever this broke. Disabling it fixes the issue.
Thanks!
I’m on the latest version of the Nightly Eternity build from Bazsalanszky and don’t get this issue. can you try on that?
