In 1963, the politician Thomas D’Alesandro Jr. submitted a photo to appear with The New York Times’s announcement of his daughter’s engagement.

The photo was sent to the NY Times by her father “Thomas D’Alesandro Jr., a prominent politician in Baltimore” who served as mayor for 12 years, to announce her engagement to Paul Pelosi.

She hadn’t changed her last name yet, so the photo was filed under her maiden name “Nancy D’Alesandro”.

She looks so young in that '60s hairdo!
