I just noticed that there are quite a few users on Reddit from r/WorldNews who are defending Israel unequivocally and when I checked some of the users they seemed to be engaging on topics only about Israel/Palestine and they seem to be extremely active, so I have checked the Internet and there are even some older BBC article and Reddit posts discussing exactly this issue: https://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-news-from-elsewhere-23695896

There are definitely pro-Russia bots. At some point they would all come online at the same time and post the same thing but with different synonyms.

would be embarrassing if intelligence services didn’t deploy bots to push propaganda and create divisions

I checked r/worldnews a few days ago and the comment is absolutely flooded with pro-israel and mainly support the disproportionate respond. Any anti-israel comment will either downvoted to hell or removed. I thought astro-turfing, but then i guess you don’t really need to get paid to defend something unethical.

Or maybe they’re israeli, there’s a lot of israeli enjoying the slaughter and even called it “Pallywood”, the term coined by conspiracy theorist in early 2000, arguing the Palestinian has been faking their death.

    Honestly don’t know.

I avoid Reddit politics at all cost nowadays. Using an RSS for the several subreddits I like to keep track of and that’s it.

Reddit is a heavy toxic cesspool when it comes to politics. Blatant racism, hateful comments and advocating for deaths of people they don’t know (as long it is not themselves).

I recommend just avoid it and keep track of it on Lemmy or a different place you like.

Seems likely. I’ve been an internet leftist for a long time now and that sub has always been disinterested in the left, but the level of outright hostility recently is extreme.

Bro what are you talking about, Reddit has always been pretty much leftist and even more so with popular subs like politics or world news.

Leftism is not counterculture/ anti system as much as people here like to think. Face it. It is mainstream and THE system.

I want some insight into your mind and how you think leftism is mainstream. First, can you define leftism in a way that matches the dictionary, and then can you explain how it isn’t counterculture
