Oakland on Friday showed a lot of California love for the late, legendary hip-hop artist and rapper Tupac Shakur – a section of MacArthur Boulevard was renamed in his honor.

Why didn’t the next stretch between Grand and Lakeshore get the name instead? Tupac’s commemorative “block” is basically the freeway off ramp.
