After seeing my husband play for hours, I didn’t even know it was possible to play without belts!

It’s fledgling season in the northern hemisphere, and lots of fledglings don’t naturally have a ton of fear of humans. Adult birds might also ‘let’ people pet them after a window strike; they don’t always look like a bloody mess so people don’t always realize how injured they are.
It was an internet comment, not a thesis.
If only 5% of people who got HP tattoos regret them (insanely optimistic) that’s still higher than the regret rate for trans surgeries. I didn’t post this here to nitpick about whether or not anyone has polled people with HP tattoos.
Wow it would be terrible if someone posted a meme on /c/transmemes and not a scientific study of HP tattoo regret rate 🙄
I’m an atheist and that’s why I specified the edgy part.
They (hopefully) outgrow the edgy part, though, was my point.
Ohh I understand what you mean now lol, sorry for misreading!
I see no reason to believe people with HP tattoos are for some reason magically (hah) more immune to regret than people with other tattoos in general, especially when HP in particular is linked with a bigoted public figure 🤷♂️
The general regret rate is around 25% of people with tattoos who regret any tattoo they have.
Trans surgery regret rates are around 1-3%, last I looked into it.
I’m hoping that it’s just the gen z/alpha version of an edgy atheist phase that they outgrow. For what it’s worth she also says a lot of kids are way more chill about LGBT students, including being respectful of pronouns.
It’s buried halfway down this article, but here are more details:
The protest stemmed from an Israel real estate event on Sunday at the Adas Torah synagogue, according to the synagogue’s security director and social media posts from organizers.
The event at the synagogue was organized by My Israel Home, a firm that markets real estate in Israel and West Bank settlements and was advertising on social media. CNN has reached out to My Israel Home for comment.
I have an in-law that’s a teacher, and she says it’s fucking crazy how radicalized some kids are. Her coworkers have dealt with 11 year old boys straight up telling female teachers they don’t have to listen to them because they’re women.
They’re apparently always talking about shithead influencers like Andrew Tate too, and the ones that aren’t down the pipeline are definitely still heavily exposed to the ideas. Real disturbing shit.
Well, you wouldn’t know it from the article, but the protestors had a specific goal: get the university to divest its investments in Intel due to their close ties to Israel. The threat of it being fucking expensive and disruptive if they don’t do that is one of many possible tactics they had available.
Whether or not that’s a good idea or an effective one is a completely different discussion, but they’re not doing it because they hate books. They’re doing it because the books cost a lot to replace and it’s very disruptive to business as usual.
If it makes you feel any better, in sections where current information changes rapidly (law, technology, medicine, etc) these books were destined to be discarded and destroyed within a few years anyway. Universities throw away or recycle a ton of books every year, often because literally nobody wants them.
It’s not what I would have chosen to do, but I also can’t really fault teenagers and young adults being a little over the top about an ongoing genocide that in their view their university is indirectly financially benefiting from.
TIL click beetle is a real group of beetles and not just something we called them where I grew up.
I’ve always heard orange juice + vodka called a screwdriver.
And not gonna lie, I’d try it.
If you have an ice maker and a small cooler it’s way quicker to put them in the cooler and cover them with ice and water. You know, if you have a cold beer emergency and don’t want to wait for the freezer to cool it down. 5 minutes is plenty.
AFAIK they don’t use those in airports, at least not in the domestic flight area. I could see it being used at customs or something, although I think even in customs they usually have dogs sniffing for agricultural concerns like plants and seeds rather than drugs. The dogs you see near security theater checkpoints screening areas are all bomb sniffing dogs AFAIK.
Chrono Cross, despite being a 3D game made in the late 90s, has also aged pretty well if you want to give it a play too. If the game style doesn’t look to your liking the soundtrack is still great.
