I had a positive experience using xmr. But I contacted them about their crappy pgp key months ago, they did nothing. I contacted them about many websites not being accessible from some of their servers, they did nothing.

Is there a way to follow with RSS?
A lot of IT companies in NL hire foreigners. There’s just too little local offer. They throw with work visas as a result, because they’ve never heard about remote-first work being possible after covid. They can’t modernize their work culture because of stupid old fashioned managers and as a result NL has one of the worst housing crisis in Europe. And pay ain’t that good either in a lot of cases, taking into account how much you lose on rent.
Windows server and all the half-working crap it comes with it. I ended up replacing most functionalities with third party tools because Microsoft doesn’t know about good UX. OS deployment? Replaced, GPO? Replaced where possible. Patch management? Replaced.
I always wanted to start playing the game
Not that I know of
I understand now, but I think this method wouldn’t be an efficient one, except for sharing articles about learning that language but I think this c already is good enough for it. What I’m missing is a chat for group of people studying the same language, and where we can also converse orally. That’s what DL is missing, and alternative I tried was full of unmotivated people.
What’s wrong with this community if you want to keep it on Lemmy? I think it would fragment the community unnecessarily
You should look into the USA military techniques too. There’s some good tips there as well and I think you can do a test as well
Never. I just never liked it being forced on me, as it was in school. I was relatively bad at some languages because I hated doing it in school
I really enjoyed starting to watch Dragonball z years ago in Japanese. I noticed how boring or wrong the English dubs were after that. A lot of censoring too. And it’s hard to be better than Japanese voice actors too
Good idea. That’s what I’m missing about Duolingo tbh. Let’s start it. Maybe we should make a discord or alternative?
Thanks. A few of them but main focus is Spanish. What about you?
2200+ fire streak since I joined 10 years ago (multiple languages). Lost the streak a few times before. I’m not fluent but maintaining it helps me to improve a bit every day.
Think in the language as soon as you can. You’ll improve much faster than if you keep translating back to your mother language
Cool. Very useful to just pinpoint on the goal of stopping
Works now 👍
That sounds like a great idea. It would also be great if you’d use the formatting that’s describes in the rules and linked by otter@lemmy.ca, so we can open the community easily from any instance
You do get quality experiences from that? I feel most online communication platforms nowadays are basically “post and don’t look back” or “comment once and bye”. Before we had more dominantly forums where topics were discussed over a long period and even between the same people, and you’d easily recognize and connect with people. Lemmy (and reddit) also falls in the first category: you hardly make any connections and topics get abandoned after they disappeared from the front page.
Nice initiative. Small request: can you fix your community link so it’s fediverse compatible and doesn’t redirect to an external website?
