If most of the world is against a thing, asking if said thing might be bad isn’t asking “tough questions”

Actual leftists KNEW that already. Kamala, Biden, the majority of the DNC - they’re all corrupt corporatists.
But the situation the USA was in was one of minimizing overall damage. And with the corporatists, there was still a small chance of gaining some control from them peacefully via elections, if simply because more left leaning people can at least run under the Democrat moniker.
With the fascists, that opportunity is gone. By allowing them to win, not only do you worsen the genocide occuring in Israel (if not ensured Israel from achieving it entirely), but also just got killed a bunch of other people and hurt a huge amount of minorities in the USA as well.
Not voting didn’t stop the genocide and never would have, but it did guarantee that it gets worse while hurting other innocents outside of Palestine as well. If you didn’t vote for Kamala (which literally means “horrible” in Finnish), you’re a dumbass, because you allowed a greater evil to prevail. Especially since I know many of y’all abstainers are still paying taxes anyway and funding the genocides either way.
She voted against the railroad workers strike, so nah. She sold out to the DNC for a chance at power only for Pelosi to go assist her anyway.
She’s still one of the best politicians y’all have though. But that bar is so low it’s underground, so…
Well it’s a good thing he wants to place 100% tariffs on Taiwan then - more chips for the EU.
I should have elaborated.
In the EU, if buying from another EU country, you just put in your VAT# to exclude VAT. But your country’s tax administration can then ask to justify a business expense. You can only claim VAT paid on foreign (non -EU) imports once doing taxes for reimbursement if it was paid.
I have a feeling Estonia’s tax administration doesn’t ask as many questions as the Finnish one.
That said, there’s usually an actual exception for luxury cars, if it’s for your sales people (or if you do the sales, yourself). Luxury branding can be used as a “marketing tactic” due to “presentation”. Basically, if you’re meeting with a potential customer, looking like you’re successful technically makes you look more reliable. Essentially business attire for your personal transportation.
Not saying it’s necessarily true, but it’s actually a really old thing done in many countries.
I’ve been working on what you want basically for awhile now. But currently what I’ve come with is:
Plasma Bigscreen with Waydroid (and instead of Newpipe I’d recommend Stube instead in Waydroid).
If you do want 1080p for Netflix etc for whatever reason, basically sandboxed Firefox with DRM enabled with (streaming service website) turned into a Webapp
I don’t know about other tech companies, but if you run a local AI you at least won’t have to worry about that. You don’t need a high end computer if you only use it sparingly anyway.
Otherwise, stick to open source or privacy friendly tech as much as possible and you’ll avoid him pretty well. Linux software alternatives are definitely not supported by him I’m sure (like Krita, GIMP, and Libre Office).
Email is a bit tricker with the news about Proton, but I think Tuta and Posteo are alright. Again, this could also be something that can be run on a local mini server if you’re interested.
If it’s about the phone, I suggest either a used Pixel with Graphene, used Samsung with /e/ if you have the tech know how, or a Murena’s new phone (if it’s available yet where you are - if not let me know), or if you have the money, a Fairphone 5.
I can also help you out with setting up non-cloud stuff if you want, like security cams if you’re interested.
For smart home automation you can do Home Assistant , which now also has pre-made hardware available (could be useful if you need to control/ automate grow lights, sprinklers, or chicken coop heaters).
In the last decade (not counting fish & hunting) I’ve known the name of every animal I’ve eaten and I or my partner slaughtered it.
I misread that at first and thought it included wild animals.
Which made me think of a moose eating your turnips and you glaring at him and saying “uuuu, Ricky, when I catch you Ricky…”
Not really. You have to provide your own business ID in order to not be charged VAT, and they gets noticed and registered.
You’ll have to then explain why the Ferrari, specifically, was a business expense. If the tax administration doesn’t think it’s a good reason, you then have to pay the VAT anyway.
And don’t even get me started on the fucking bureaucratic stupidity that is importation or I’ll have to take my blood pressure medication.
Source: starting up my own business in Finland. Rip 25.5%VAT. Fuck NCP.
Pry off the delete key from the keyboard.
How many be bots tho
You should try Claude and give it an image of the salute, since it can see.
Maybe while using a VPN that shows your location as Germany, just in case they’re tampering with things in the USA.
If humans can “reason” themselves into thinking the world is flat and the sky is water (not being hyperbolic), then I don’t see why an AI can reason at least a little.
That you still say he’s not publicly a Nazi says everything.
Nah, but I can live with knowing I at least tried to stop literal Nazis from gaining absolute power.
Can you say the same?
Leftists don’t let Nazis get into power, even if it means dealing with corporatists some more years.
You’re not a leftist. You did nothing to avoid the farthest of the right-wing from gaining possibly absolute power. You did nothing to keep things leftward, or even center right - you just allowed the fascists to take over without a struggle.
You’re not the resistance, you’re not a helper, you’re not leftist; you’re nothing.
So, I don’t know as much as you do, but I’m wondering; if it’s that bad, why did it ever get popular? It’s not like people who write/program/maintain/deploy Linux aren’t usually very knowledgeable. They’re usually experts and computer scientists. It seems to me, at least, if it’s that bad, it would have never been adopted so widely? Is Systemd pulling a Microsoft and bribing people or something?
Eh, I’ve been in your position.
If I still lived there and was still in death trajectory, I’d do it. Not for all the dumdums who should also be doing it (or the idiots who dont deserve it), but to make the world a better place (or at least try) instead of leaving it in the same shit it’s in, including for anyone you love, if there’s any.
I think that, maybe if you were even closer to death (as in actually terminal), you might (because not everyone has the same mindset) see the point, because people who are going to die anyway have something everyone else doesn’t - freedom from consequences. Freedom of choice with societal constraints, because what can any society impose on someone already destined to meet an end soon? They can try, but what is the ultimate deterrent for most humans is non existent for people who are/were in our place.
Sure, you could call it abelist. I call it opportunist. Glass half full kinda thing. Other people, doing what we could do, have the potential to face something much worse than death in a fascist regime. Torture comes to mind.
Someone like me who had kidney failure and did dialysis though? Assuming they want to capture me to torture me, I just gotta take some potassium supplements right after pulling off what I want to and my heart goes weh.
Don’t pat yourself in the back too much either - even if me or you did go through with such an act, we wouldn’t really be a hero or brave or anything either. We’d be just as much of a coward, in a way, as the “abelists”, in that something was only done once we basically had little to lose. If deciding that, it’s only because there’s already an exit anyway.
You can of course just do nothing like everyone else. Or go do more dangerous things like skydiving or giving a monkey a shower and have some fun. Certain death assured expeditiously gives freedom like no other. You have the right to be selfish with that choice just as those more likely to live longer do everyday.
But you still carry hope because you still have a good chance, that’s why it makes you angry. You still have something holding you back. People who still have hope are not the same as the hopeless, nor even the same as people who lost all hope momentarily.
And that is something those in power forget too.
