I know the trope that this is playing on. I’m in collections myself for a lot of money for a partial heart attack scare (monitor your potassium levels!). It just feels icky to me since sexual assault of hospital patients absolutely does happen.

I guess for me it’s one thing to portray a doctor with a cheese grater (or the tens of other absurd variations on this meme) compared to an honestly more plausible sexual assault.

Then the double whammy of states just not helping women who want to carry to term but can’t.

All to say I see what the meme was aiming for, but I don’t love being raped as a punchline.

I appreciate it fellow friendly internet stranger! Luckily I’m on the other side of a lake for this, so not too much worry. Air quality is rough, but I’ve honestly gotten used to it growing up in Cali. Not the first (or likely last) time I’ve had to deal with raining ash. Closest we get to snow in our area haha

The Airport Fire is very close to me, and just crested the mountain range to be visible on our side. It’s not a CALFire Incident but thankfully they still update reports and evac zones. Fire.ca.gov is the absolute GOAT.

Most of the buses where I am have a bike rack attached to the exterior, I’ve definitely taken that for granted.

We had a 2 drinks limit at company after hours gigs. Not that bad, but it was apparently because someone drank a bunch and then walked onto a highway. There was also the time the FBI came into the building to ask about a sales guy who took part in 1/6.

There’s a really well done VR mod for this game. It’s actually the only way I’ve played it so far. If you can run Steam VR I highly recommend it! I had to do a reinstall of some stuff so haven’t finished the game yet, but it’s been high on my ‘to-do list’.

Tangential but also relevant; I worked in a larger construction company until a year ago and it was multi state. Imagine my surprise when word spread that the FBI was looking for an employee in another department regarding 1/6. Before Jan 6 he had been filmed jumping up on a table at the local Costco with a megaphone and spewing filth.

Also appreciate the extra info on the Tokyo parks, it’s been a few years since I worked there and just remembered they didn’t own it out-right.

I took a lot of pride in the work I put out while working at the Cali parks; but I don’t doubt it was a completely different atmosphere. We’d get quite a few guests from Japan via the Pacific and they were always a pleasure to be around. For better and for worse the American guests were a lot more casual (and to my chagrin the cast as well) so depending on the group I could tailor spiels. We ran a slightly loose ship, but if you knew how the system worked, you could make magic happen.

I worry it might be in bad taste to reference the major earthquake that they had to deal with, but that’s when I truly saw how phenomenal a response could be. We get trained on disaster scenarios but all I had dealt with was a 5M. Haven’t been yet, but that park will always have my respect.
