Maybe your phone only uses 5GHz wifi if internet speed is good enough that it is worth it. There is usually a switch that is called something like maximum compatibility where it turns WiFi down to 2.4GHz

Well, it does not matter if the country has no 2G. The thing is, that your phone is 2G compatible. They tell the phone something like “ehh, at this spot we have only 2G roaming” and phone is like “sure, let’s downgrade to 2G”

I personally went for arch based endeavourOS, since I love to install my apps using AUR

For rock solid rolling release distribution, I would point to openSuse tumbleweed, and if daily updates are too much, you can go to OpenSuse slowEoll or fedora

If you plan to use flatpaks only anyway, then distribution does not really matter, but then you may have problems with some apps that don’t just work in sandboxed mode and you would need flatSeal app to set the right to read/write files outside of the sandbox. (Eg. wine/proton apps that need access to mounted .iso)

I learned C++, python, how stuff in the Linux kernel works, how ansible works and can be tuned, and a lot more using the help of AI (mostly copilot, but when it fails to help, I use my free prompts of OpenAI 4.o, which is way better than copilot, right now)
