There has been 28 of these conferences so far and not a I gel thing has been fixed. They spent the first two days of the conference arguing over the term “phasing out”.

… Gosh, I’m beginning to think that a US-lead NATO might not be good for global peace and that the US government might be the most reactionary, anti-progressive polity in the modern world. To be clear she wasn’t just sent spiders. This woman had a targeted harassment and stalking campaign conducted against her for months by six people. They went to her house and sent her threatening messages that implied she might be in danger.

There are entire Caribbean islands that no longer have sand beaches because they were trucked away illegally by concrete companies.
Yeah the developers are themselves just workers that don’t profit no matter how well the game sells. Some might incidentally hold some shares in the company they work for but it’s not big money. They aren’t the board and they aren’t the primary shareholders.
People like being known for having a hand in the Big Game of the Decade. People who worked on Skyrim have that as part of their resume and can point at it and gloat about this crazy thing that is beloved by many.
Conversely an attack on a game they had a hand in developing feels like an attack on their own capabilities — whether or not that has anything to do with it directly.

I would say our car dependency is the same or worse compared to America. In America they have the population to support small towns that are dense and walkable. These are rare enough that every single one of them is a tourist destination… but we don’t even have one. All the Canadian small towns have a highway, a Walmart, a Boston pizza, and maybe a strip mall.
Toronto, canadas biggest city, is fully dependent on the car. There are multiple highways running through it, cutting neighborhoods off and decreasing walkability. The transit system is somehow even less developed than the already meagre American alternatives, with two short subway lines servicing a city of like 3 mill.

Also, I’m Canadian so this is self-deprecating. We gutted our cities 80 years ago and turned them into boring asphalt wastelands. I can see that at an intersection not too far from my apartment, where one tall, beautiful building from 100 years ago still remains, but on every other corner is a gas station, a car dealership, and a parking lot. And the streets that were once walkable and pleasant are now stroads with ridiculous traffic patterns that were widened to make way for more car traffic. I know this because an old photograph of the same area is painted on the side of an electrical box near that intersection.

My problem is that when I log in and have 10+ notifications I think “oh no what did I say” and then never check them.
I don’t really know, tbh. But I do know a lot of the stuff the corporate media in the west reports on about NK are verifiably flat out lies. Stuff like “every male citizen is forced to get the same haircut as KJU”. That was a story invented whole cloth by a broadsheet rag in SK, then picked up by western media sources and reported to us as fact.
There is a financial element to this: saying outrageous things about NK leads to tidy profits. Even NK defectors have been caught lying about the place. What’s her face was touring Americas right wing talk shows recently, saying things that either just aren’t true or wildly exaggerated. She’s made a good career of it.
So don’t trust immediately. Verify. Every media source has a bias and recognize that whenever you view one.
