I found a solution myself, if anyone else is wondering.
There’s an easier way to get the same effect: Shift-Click your cell(s) and drag where you want it/them, then hold Alt before releasing to drop it in place and auto re-order the column.

They go down frequently and are notorious for being riddled with trap files and malware. No one should be using the bay anymore. 1337x has the same problem now but slightly less than the bay, and a lot of domains are now honeypots. This guy probably read one post about piracy close to a decade ago and NEVER learned anything new after that.
lol, talk about a lack of standards
Oh yeah, that worked perfectly. That solves my Steam problem, so I think that combined with X-Mouse is about as good as Win10 users are going to do for this problem.
This does pretty much exactly what it should, and I like that it’s just a set-and-forget, one-time-run thing. I don’t know if this is just Steam, but Steam specifically is still pretty pervasive about yanking all focus away from whatever I’m doing multiple times in a row.
I tested by slowly dragging a window around on my second screen while Steam opened up on my first. Sure enough, three times my cursor just slipped off as the window came to a grinding halt and forced me to start the click-and-drag again, just to kick me off again until Steam was satisfied its presence was thoroughly announced.
I know this whole thing sounds like such a petty gripe, but words can’t describe how absolutely aggravating this is when it happens regularly. If I ever worked with someone who behaved like this, I’d be going hands-on in no time and making sure they never come within eye-sight of me again.
That’s not a bad idea for most at-work stations, but I frequently switch around throughout the day. That does give me the idea to have some specific apps open with a minimized argument (via batch file or shortcut arguments), but that only solves a fraction of my problem.
It’s really not a chore if you don’t pick super exclusive trackers. RuTracker, if I remember correctly, doesn’t really have requirements to join, and they don’t even monitor ratios anymore. All files should come with English tracks, and your browser can already auto-translate the site for you. Even the ones that do require seeding give you a grace period to build it up, and all you have to do is set an automatic ratio goal of 100% or so on your torrent client.
I thought it was understood that 1337 is about as fucked as the bay? Private Russian trackers are universally the way to go, but there’s still better resources outside of that on the reddit megathread
Interesting idea, I’m running dual monitors and higher than 60 fps on one of them only. That monitor also has g-sync and some other nvidia gimmicks, but as far as I know I don’t have any of them enabled. I also keep drivers updated religiously, so we can check that box.
I made sure to download the latest runtime after seeing that error the first time, but no dice. They also have no information on their site whatsoever regarding any dependencies for this software or their links in general.
Sorry if the formatting on the event log entries got fucked, I’m still figuring out how to use these text fields properly
Yeah, I wish I had the foresight to buy a smaller SSD just for boot, and save up for a storage SSD or two for my heavy games. But I wanted it all right now and for less money, which was obviously a compromise in hindsight lol
So the “turn off disks after” setting was already set, and USB selective suspend already disabled, BUT those are apparently overridden for USB connected drives if the “Allow the computer to turn off this device” box is checked for that USB hub in Windows Device Manager (Power Management tab).
All of those had defaulted to ‘on’ since I upgraded my mobo, so I think I’ve got it now.
