  • Yeah, turning it a bit to the side is no big deal.

However, I recently found out that this makes drinking things a little more viscous absolutely impossible without messing up your shit.

I drank a Kefir, which you normally shake before drinking. So there is a lot of it clinging to the inside of the cap for dear life - up until to that very moment you take a sip. Then, it decides that it had enough and spills on your clothes, face, shoes - whatever the fuck it can possibly get to.

So either you need a glass, let it sit until the cap is mostly empty or lick that cap and look like a complete degenerate.

  • Brave girl! And good on you to neuter them! Give her a lot of cuddles and treats :)

For the pills: A stupidly good tip I’ve read on Lemmy a while back is butter! Cats love that stuff and it masks the bitterness of the medicine. Wash your hands after initial handling of the pill, rub them in a bit of butter between your fingers and optionally put them into a snack your cat likes. That way, I can give my one very picky cat its meds daily.

When our cat had this surgery, the vet told us that she should not jump and climb if possible. So, maybe set everything she likes up the way so she won’t have to climb/jump? Ours especially liked to crawl into our bedsheets afterwards, so I set up the bed on the ground for some nights.

And, if you have another cat: separate them if you can’t watch them. Cats can’t really recognise their fellows after a surgery (meds, wounds and the vet mask their normal smell) and might go a bit berserk on them.

  • As almost everybody already said: Just try it. Get some protectors and a helmet - don’t give a single shit whether anybody would think that’s not cool or goofy or whatever. You love your body and want to protect it. That’s rad imo. Also: a helmet is more real estate for awesome stickers ;)

Then remember two things: bend your knees and lean forward. Also, you will fall and get up again. That’s part of skateboarding. Try to learn how to correctly fall: loosen your body and try to always divert the impact by rolling and “pushing the ground”. Find out if you’re regular or goofy and just go for it.

I highly recommend the beginner videos from braille Skateboarding on YouTube! They have a lot of tips for everything.

  • Strangely, I’m currently on the search for the exact same thing :D Your post was weirdly close to my own thoughts about this that I got stuck on it. Maybe you might try „Insurgency: Sandstorm“. Very very good Gunplay, some years old by now but at least in the EU or US it’s really not a problem to find a full match in about some seconds. There’s no grind - all weapons and attachements are unlocked right away, the only thing you can buy are weapon skins. It is on the „realistic“ end of the casual spectrum tho. Also, compared to COD or OW, the rounds feel rather slow.

Another one you can check out is „BattleBit Remastered“. It’s pretty hyped right now and kinda like what Battlefield should have been. It is extremely hectic and chaotic. The gunplay and customisation is really really good. Personally, it wasn’t really for me and I just could not get over the Roblox-Graphics… this one also works perfectly on Linux with Proton!

Honourable mention: with its Steam-Release it’s also a breeze to run OW2 on Linux! If you want to give it another try.

Edit: forgot this one. As you mentioned Halo - have you tried Halo: Infinite? This one is fucking infested with microtransaction tho… there is no chance to grind the content humanely possible without paying
