No I completely understand! While we are different, I’m a Black American, I’m struggling to get my family out of a crappy area as is, imagine what would happen when Trump is president? Not to mention the majority of his cult members, who are horrible as is towards Black folks and any other minority groups… His cabinet picks…? Supreme Court…? So fun… 😭
My bestie, despite being born in the US is Guyanese, so I’m really hoping that she can stay. If she leaves, I wouldn’t know what to do.
I figured Mastodon might have something but I was surprised to hear that it’s biggest black-led instance was closed down after loads of harrassment. I’m tired of this happening.

I’m not entirely sure how this will come across, but I believe it’s best for this group to remain as it is. I understand that some may disagree, but I’ve been feeling uncertain about the term ‘POC.’ Not every one of us will share the same experiences, and I think it’s perfectly acceptable for those of us who wish to create spaces that reflect our individual cultures. I believe we can coexist positively, as long as we maintain respect for one another.
I don’t really see it as such, so I’m just going to say agree to disagree.
Wow, that must’ve sucked so hard. Most of the animosity I’ve been getting were in really odd places. It’s not even just Reddit. I remember seeing racist comments on a Barbie video… It was sad and weird.

There might be a couple, I wish I started with that before sharing the post. I do feel like their reactions to my question was an overreaction and then I solidified that by overreacting to the overreaction. 😆
