Nope, it’s smart. Leaving sentencing until after the election also keeps the Supreme Court out of it before the election. You can bet your boots they would have fast-tracked any appeal and nullified the sentence somehow before the election.
SUCH a good movie, and I second seeing Enemy of the State as well, although I wouldn’t call it a sequel but it has a similar underlying premise.

Edit: I should add that, if you have a wedding in a church or a public place, anyone can attend the official bit, and I have been at weddings where randoms turn up for the church service and sit at the back.
