couple things:
I can’t vouch for this particular tracker but in general (free) private trackers are very nice.
I looked up some reviews for the tracker and reddit was shitting all over it, claiming it’s pretty pay to use and the admins are tyrants. Can anyone share their experience?
- No self posts.
I strongly think this rule should change, it is important we are able to humanize each other, make our own arguments. Self posts are important way to do that. I think some guidelines to keep it constructive and high effort is warranted but an outright ban I’m against.
- No meme/image/shitposting.
I’m fine with this, but maybe a weekly mega thread to blow off steam in would be healthy?
No calls for violence. Full stop.
I understand the legal obligations here. I’ll also point out the president elect is openly calling for widespread violence. If some can say “cops should shoot/arrest/deport <xyz>” that is a call for violence.
Mods, You have a hard, thankless job, so thank you.
Harris still might, California is only 60% counted with mostly urban places left to count.
Vizor said they could simply send a private message — known as a “whisper” in the game — that included one of these hardcoded strings, such as “Trigger Bot,” and get the player they were messaging banned from the game.
That is so fucking stupid.
Perhaps my experience is atypical but with the old system I’d have to sign in and reset everything every few months, so that doesn’t really seem very different for me at least. But then again I dont have much if a remote setup anymore.
First they came for RFK jr and I did nothing because I’m not a brain worm…
Water? You mean Pee spread over a russian hooker*?
The russian piss tape story was likely fake news
First game that has convinced me to setup my vr at my new house.
I’m not entirely sure what you mean by “voting is done” but I think our parliamentary system is somewhat more resistant to systemic fuckery than the US system.
I don’t mean we are invincible, but 1 conservative term is not going to end democracy in Canada.
that’d be a huge pull, but if it were to happen we’d probably end up with a very exciting 5-way split which would be quite exciting (and probably extremely unstable). if ABC voters can heavily coordinate AND PP says a bunch of quiet stuff out loud then it could happen.
“If it’s important someone will tell me about it” is such an infuriatingly common position.
A certainty.
Liberals have been in power for a decade at this point (5th-6th longest term in history depending on when exactly the election happens), and have picked up a ton of baggage, from corruption scandals (some more manufactured than others) , oil pipeline flubs that left everyone mad, blackface scandal, political interference, broken promises of electoral reform, even a divorce. They currently hang on to an extremely weak minority with the NDP. The only reason there hasn’t already been an election is that the NDP is too broke to put up a real fight.
Anyone right of centre will literally foam at the mouth at the mention of Trudeau, anyone left of centre is disappointed and disinterested. The NDP is likely to pick up seats, but they have never held power and the current leader is seen as pretty weak, they don’t stand a good chance of gaining power.
the conservative party is polling with a 20point lead right now, look at this map. Furthermore they have been taking a hard right turn over the last few years to avoid losing out to a far-right party that has emerged, the new leader poilievre is a populist and the furthest right I have ever seen a viable Canadian candidate. He’s also french speaking, which has traditionally been a strength of the liberals and weakness of the CPC. He is actively campaigning on reducing trans folks (and especially trans children) access to healthcare, ending the carbon tax, reducing immigration and has been dog whistling hard about restricting abortion.
The question is not If he takes power, but rather how quickly we can rebuild left wing power and how much can we mitigate the damage. Personally I hope Greens pick up a few seats, liberals get their shit together within a year and no-confidence Mr.PP. He mostly won’t be winning because he’s popular but rather his opponents are politically radioactive.
After the pump comes the dump
I’m not American or weighing in on this, but I don’t think country is a legal term nor mutually exclusive with being a territory. England is a country despite being governed by the UK. Greenland is the same.
If we look at the wiki for Country
A country is a distinct part of the world, such as a state, nation, or other political entity. When referring to a specific polity, the term “country” may refer to a sovereign state, states with limited recognition, constituent country, or a dependent territory.[1][2][3][4] Most sovereign states, but not all countries, are members of the United Nations.[5] There is no universal agreement on the number of “countries” in the world since several states have disputed sovereignty status, limited recognition and a number of non-sovereign entities are commonly considered countries.[6][5]
The definition and usage of the word “country” are flexible and have changed over time. The Economist wrote in 2010 that “any attempt to find a clear definition of a country soon runs into a thicket of exceptions and anomalies.”[7]
Again, I am not making a claim about whether PR is a country specifically, just that being a territory does not disqualify it.
Does it?
user A uses their full bandwidth from 2am-4am when the network is empty then watches a 720p video at 5pm (or whenever the networks peak is).
User B watches an 8k video at 5pm and nothing at any other time.
UserB clearly contributes to congestion on the network more than user A despite user A using more data. Furthermore throttling user A does less to resolve the congestion than throttling user B.
IMO If the network needs to throttle then the people the most data at that instant in time need to be throttled and the network needs to start upgrading its infrastructure or amending its marketing materials.
Really the current internet model is a little weird, it should be pay to use with on and off peak hours the same as other utilities, and throttling should be seen as a major failure that needs immediate attention.
Outer wilds felt really good to play, optimistic nihilism and a happy lonliness. One moment that really stood out to me was when I followed a certain object out of the solar system, spent pretty much 20minutes drifting in space listening to the other astronauts play together planets apart and watching the stars
Watching the stars slowly blink out and realizing that I won’t be able to save the sun, that it’s the whole universe going away. Givining in to the inevitability of it all ending and just watching everything end.
It’s one of the most peaceful times I’ve had with a game, and playing it in the middle of covid I cried happy tears. Go in as blind as you can.
The petition was ostentatiously for “free speech and the right to bear arms” created by elon musk. If you signed this petition (which collects a lot of data for the republican party) and also registered to vote you could enter a lottery to win a million bucks. If said lottery was purely chance then that’s against election laws. Elon thus argues that he rigged it intentionally, to quote the article they were " not chosen at random but based on their “suitability” to serve as PAC spokespeople." This latest lawsuit is from petition signing who thought they were entering a true lottery and were thus (allegedly) fraudulently mislead.
Signing the original petition definitely helped trump and the republican party.
