I can’t wait for the technology to get basic enough where I can roll my own self hosted instance of it without it taking months. Because I can see a way it’s doable without a centralized service to get around that. But for mass consumer level, I can see that becoming true. But this can be applied to every bit of software currently. All of it can be ran by you, if you have time. Hell I’ve got my own cloud (hosted at my home ) music streaming service.
This is the second time I’ve seen Bazzite mentioned, and it really peaks my interest. I’m definitely going to have give it a try the next time I change distros.
yeah I have a weird wifi dongle that runs the driver via dkms. It was a pain for years, because with every major driver update I had to reinstall it. But the last time I installed it, the repo I found had an autoinstaller, so now it gets automatically gets added when the kernel updates. what a life saver.
