I’m far from a helicopter parent… Instead, my kid has come to me for help in resolving uncomfortable or problematic interactions. We’ve always been clear and honest about why we’ve asked her to avoid certain things. Even when it made us uncomfortable. Especially then.

She’s 20 now. Most cheerful kid I’ve ever met. No idea how that happened directly, but I know I can trust her.

From what I’ve seen, you might want to go pure hardware, with a portable dac or similar from someone in the HWA like Fiio. Many can be plugged directly into a Windows machine and perform the rendering and Bluetooth transmission directly, so you don’t have to mess with the crappy nonsense in the Windows Bluetooth stack.

I’ve used some Fiio devices regularly over the years and been pretty happy with them, but your needs might vary. Currently I have a btr15.

I’ve used https://www.bluetoothgoodies.com/a2dp/ for a while on a couple machines. License costs a couple bucks and is tied to a machine but it’s very cheap. I haven’t found any useful open source options unfortunately.

Was a service that was available to resell shops apparently, though she mentioned that it also has a subscription aspect that likely placed it well out of reach of mortals.

I’d even be fine with mildly increased cost on something like that for regular consumers, but alas no…
