I am really liking this movie arc as I think it is giving us a ton of insight into one of the most important, yet rarely seen characters in the whole story, Ai. This series doesn’t do regular flashbacks of the original B Komachi and all the people that knew her from back then didn’t really know her, like the director admitted this chapter. The movie is an interesting narrative framing to serve as a way to both develop our main cast in the present and learn about the cast gone by of the past.
