Happy Monday! It’s time for a new general discussion thread! Feel free to use this thread for any general comments, questions, confessions, life updates, etc. you might have.

Like normal, please be careful with spoilers. I wrote a guide about spoilers in case you need a refresher on how to handle them (also linked in the sidebar).

This past week I have been on the road a lot, both for work and for pleasure. I therefore have not had a lot of opportunities to read manga. There are a couple series that I checked out recently that I wanted to provide a quick take on here:

    • Hanging Out with a Gamer Girl - This series tends to release chapters in batches and a new batch started releasing this past week. The series is up to ch. 190, but it is a lot of fun and is going through a cultural festival arc right now.
    • I Won’t Tolerate the Sly and Calculating - I checked out this series, but I haven’t really been enjoying it. The female lead is enjoyable in a clumsy, awkward way. However, the male lead is just the worst. He hates women and thinks they are all calculating, shrewd, and trying to take advantage of men. So, he is super quick to misinterpret the worst intentions behind any action that a female character takes. I tried reading what is released so far (5 chapters), but the character has not grown on me at all, he is just insufferable. I will not be continuing the series.
    • Slime Saint - I have actually enjoyed this series more than I thought I would. The basic premise is that there is a wild slime in a forest that witnesses the murder of an evil villainess. The slime then proceeds to assume control of the dead villainess’s body (replacing blood with slime to keep things healthy and functioning of course). She then assumes the role of the former villainess with an eye to reform her image. It’s silly and dumb, but fun.
    • Itsumo Baka ni shitekuru Bishoujo-tachi to Zetsuen shitara, Jitsu wa Ore no Koto ga Daisuki Datta you da - This series has been…alright. There are only 6 chapters out so far and I feel like the main story hasn’t really kicked off yet. Basic premise would be that the male lead is constantly teased by a handful of pretty girls. So, one day he decides to move on with his life and stop talking with/engaging with them at all. This causes the girls to want to come clean with the male lead about their feelings that they actually have towards him. Like I said, it’s early still, so only one of the girls has been a focus so far. Willing to give this one a bit more time before being too harsh on it.
