So you know for the last month and a half I’m bitching and moaning about something that no one in my family seems to be able to understand why this is triggering me so much. See, for the past 38 years there has been a game series called “The Legend of Zelda” in which you play not as the titular princess Zelda, but as a green twink named “Link”. That’s just the way it is and there are even circulating memes about how normies think the playable characters is Zelda. The anime equivalent would be normies thinking Kaneda is Akira. I got over it and made my peace with that. C’est la vie.
BUT, in Nintendo’s last game keynote thingy they announced a game where you for the first time play not as Link but as the actual Zelda instead. And they still call it “The Legend of Zelda” instead of “The Legend of Link”. And this pisses me off to an unreasonable degree. I know it’s unreasonable and that I’m the only one who is driving up the walls by that, but for God’s sake, I’m not crazy, it should be called “The Legend of Link”.
Why not The Legend of Zelda’s Twink
I would take that as a compromise.
Look at you pretending that Zelda’s Adventure didn’t blaze that trail back in the 90’s. I don’t blame you though. Not only was that game completely awful, but nobody bought the CD-i and I don’t think the game is canonical (if anybody can make sense of the Zelda canon at this point). I only played it a bit via emulator, but it was too awful to play for very long.
Wow, now I want to play it.
