Trying to find a mecha/robot anime probably It’s an old anime. It has one scene where a boy was sitting inside robot then a girl jump on his lap and he closed the robot head and they were going to fight a large mothership like thing. Also, that girl was not human I guess(not sure).
Bravern was one of the best shows that seemingly nobody in the West watched. It was completely overshadowed in the Winter 2024 season by some other big shows that were airing at the same time (Frieren, Dungeon Meshi). I absolutely loved it and recommend it wholeheartedly.
