    I’m visiting my in-laws in the Delaware area. We’re far from home, so it’s always an adventure for me as I’ve only been out this way three times now.

    NYE was a bust cause I got super sick with vertigo. The next day we got to catch the end of the Mummers Parade in person, so I was over the moon! I got whiskey that was too strong for me at an Irish pub and ate hot pretzels outside the city hall.

    Last night we visited Longwood Gardens and today we’re touring the Herrs chip factory. After that it will be games and relaxing.

    It’s hard to express how much better this year has started compared to last year. I feel like the sun is finally peeking thru the darkness of the last few years.

        A New Year’s Day parade that stems from old European traditions but borrows heavily from black and brown culture too. Some people have described it as being like Brazilian Carnival or Mardi Gras but “Gritty-er” because it is in Philadelphia. I was expecting more coordinated dancing like Carnival but this was more like men in costumes randomly making merry. It was quite a spectacle
