It was just two years ago that the second season of SAC_2045 came out and just two months ago, last November, that they released the compilation movie for it. So, I wouldn’t be too surprised if they announce some kind of continuation, whether that is another season or a new movie.
GITS is one of those properties that will just never die. It has reached that critical mass of cultural awareness that there will always be an audience for more content of some kind.
