Interesting, you could read it like that indeed. I remember Yui said that she cut her hair short to be more tough in order to protect Kyouko (or something similar). How I saw it is that she got that bandage first (something to do with Kyouko) and then decided to get her hair cut. In any case it’s a wonderfully ambiguous piece and I like the expression she has on her face.
