Is society just a bad dnd campaign?

Being autistic in our world means for me that I have to behave a certain way, speak a certain code and keep certain aspects of myself hidden or risk to get attacked, verbally or physically. I repeat this over and over, day in day out.

Meanwhile I am looking forward to hosting another game of dnd this saturday and it just occured to me that our reality is sad and pathetic while turning to the internet and people outside this oppressive „society“ is like looking at a piece of art. Popping colors and various shapes and interesting objects to behold.

It might be seasonal depression speaking here but it was really palpable right now.

Anyone relate?

This is what the world has felt like to me my whole life. Nothing makes sense. It’s like we insist on making life crappy. The solutions to social problems seem so evident, yet we continue to try the worst options. For example, homelessness. The reason someone is homeless is because they don’t have a home. Give them a home and they wont be homeless anymore. How much simpler could it get?? Still, we’re like, “Let’s start a rehab program and try to control every aspect of their lives to see if they can find a home.” What?! No, just build them a home. We have such an abundance of resources, but we act like we’re living in scarcity because we allow just a very few minority to hog it all. Don’t get me started!! 😆

Ok ok, I need get back to memes to calm myself down and endure another day of this nonsense.

I feel like the title and the body of the question are at odds? Like, yes the world is sad and drab and pathetic, but that doesn’t make it dnd like?

Btw, I’ve been told I’m bad about doing this but i genuinely think this is the perfect situation (and dnd sucks anyway), stop playing dnd and try Changeling the Dreaming. It’s a game in the World of Darkness and it’s literally about this. You play as a fae, a creature of dreams, in the world humanity built (as in literally modern day earth), a world built to smother dreams.
