I liked it. It was funny and the cast is interesting.

Definitely a fun ride so far. It seems like it’s aiming for a very retro feel, while leaving a lot of the baggage of that era of anime behind. I’ve seen a lot of comparisons to Maison Ikkoku, which was before my time, but having looked it up it seems like it’s very much paying homage with its premise, though ultimately it looks like it’ll be going in a different direction. The characters feel well-defined even though they’re goofy as hell. This one’s got some real promise, though it remains to be seen if it can follow through.

Overall I give it a 4/5 and look forward to seeing more.

I had actually watched this a couple of days ago after it “leaked”

The thumbprints from Rumiko Takahashi’s Maison Ikkoku are all over this setup, even our male protagonist is given room #5, the same number as MI’s male MC.

Even some of the eccentric tenant characters have some parallels, most notably with the unemployed businessman character, the pink haired idol character is a new less alcoholic twist on the red haired bar hostess from MI.

The female MC, is an alien princess searching for “the key”, an artifact that allows her to claim the throne of Wid(o) which is supposed to be somewhere in this structure, but they don’t know what it looks like.

This makes our male protagonist overhear and mistakenly believe that she’s a widow, which would be drawing a parallel to MI’s female MC.

The comic timing has some punch, standard sexually awkward situations.

The art is fantastic!

The name of the inn was Asunaro Lodge, but parts of the “na” hiragana な fell off, leaving parts that look like a katakana “to” ト

The title of the show, Astro Note, is a pun on the on sounds for “Astronaut” which are just about the same.

Not bad, but I’m this is not the kind of show that I stick with.
