That was… awful…

Apparently this is an adaptation of a mobile gacha tactical RPG game.

We’re just thrown into the middle of a city, but there’s also a desert that took over most city buildings, student president missing something something, why do all the regular citizens have animal heads and never say anything, why are catgirls with halos running around with guns, defending a deserted school from a schoolgirl gang who are invading for what?

Bullets fly, visor glass is broken, but nobody is injured.

None of it’s explained, none of it’s fun, or interesting to look at.

I hope the fans are enjoying this, because I’m not. At first I really liked the worldbuilding being slow and subtle… but after we got basically nothing all episode I went looking, and found out the game doesn’t bother explaining the world either (ever). It seemed like we got very little characterization from our main cast, so not much to like there. And the action was so flat and boring, especially when the player teacher started telling the girls what to do … a moment that I’m sure was interesting in the game, when the game play kicked in, but uh, in the anime form it was just like “oh wait, we’re supposed to shoot them? and be good at fighting? thanks!”

At least the visuals are pretty. 2/5
