there are only like 2 jumps where I couldn’t do it by simultaneously jumping off a bubble and blowing a new one and landing on it with the single bubbler. one was the triple dog room secret and the other was the button with two blocks roo. which can be skipped by oveeloading the blocking vines on the return path with bubbles. I didnt even realize you could blow the bubbles directly below you until I had the inf bubbler and was zig zagging left and right to slowly go upward.

edit: and I think both are possible just too hard for me. I can do the rooms individually for the 3dog challenge but the screen transitions are rough.

Hey could you edit your comment so it isn’t a spoiler, going to add a new rule and I don’t want to nuke your comment. I don’t know the game but I got a report and it’s probably good I include a rule.

I edited it a bit to be more vague and removed mention of items not mentioned in the article. the rest isnt really a spoiler and only describes how I dont think the upgraded bubble mentioned in the article is even needed for any of the bubble jumps, though it would be harder. The room descriptions will be fully meaningless to anyone who hasnt spent hours scrutinizing every pixel, and 3 dog is literally just identifying a room with 3 dogs in it that are immediately visible on the room load. the game is a 2d platform/metroidvania with no written or spoken story.

I’ve been torn on the game as well. The platforming has been enraging/draining and you need to do so much of it in the process of backtracking around the map for metroidvania stuff. I’ve been kept going by the intrigue of the secrets, but I’m not sure how long that can carry me past this much frustration, especially as new discoveries get fewer and further between.

It seems I’m near the end of the basic ending, but honestly if I don’t end up going beyond that I’d consider the game a failure. The core gameplay isn’t fun enough if I don’t get some solid payoff on the secret hunting.

It’s a shame. I really like these kinds of games that reward exploration and discovery. Tunic is up there as one of my favorite games of all time. But the key there is that while there was some skill based combat I had to struggle through, once I did it, I usually didn’t have to do it again to get around the map. I constantly need to deal with the same platforming bits and puzzles to get back through certain parts of the map in this game.
