Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul filed felony forgery charges Tuesday against two attorneys and an aide who helped submit paperwork falsely saying that former President Donald Trump had won the battleground state in 2020.

The charges were filed against attorneys Kenneth Chesebro, 62, and Jim Troupis, 70, and former Trump aide Mike Roman, 51, who allegedly delivered Wisconsin’s fake elector paperwork to a Pennsylvania congressman’s staffer in order to get them to then-Vice President Mike Pence on Jan. 6, 2021.

All three are due in Dane County Circuit Court on Sept. 19, according to court records. They each face one felony count punishable by up to six years in prison and fines of up to $10,000.

Troupis and Chesebro did not return voicemail messages left Tuesday. Roman did not have an attorney listed in court records.

Someone who knows better than me: why do journalists include the ages of the people mentioned in articles like these?

I assume it is for two reasons. One is to help distinguish between people who have the same names, since it is rarer for them to be the same age. The other is to give some context to the people in the story. Are they 19 year olds committing this crime who don’t necessarily know the impact of their actions? 80 year olds who are maybe not as sharp-minded as they used to be?

Troupis @ 70 yrs old doing crime could mean his last days could be in a cell if he were to get the full 6 yrs possible. That kind of blind loyalty to Trump that has zero F’s for this man just shows how sad it is to be a member of a cult.

Usually it’s done for people accused of a crime. I assume so that they don’t get confused with someone else with the same name.

Besides what’s already mentioned, the mention of age creates instant engagement from the reader. Those old young people are always up to trouble.
