    Would we be any less in danger if reality hits them in the face so they do a 180 and they nominate Haley instead? Can they nominate just any boomer they want or does it have to be someone that was an actual candidate?

      Nope, wouldn’t really be in less danger. That’s something that bothers and concerns me, people act like it’s Trump that’s the problem, but he’s really kind of irrelevant. This is the Republican party, this is all Republicans. Trump is not some bizarre outlier, at least not in the sense of the things he wants to do and will push for and enable as President. Every Republican wants those too.

      IIRC, both parties have been sued for pushing candidates away or for helping others. Basically they argued they’re not government entities and can do whatever they want. The problem would be if they nominated someone else would the ppl go along with it or protest.
